REFITECH ADDS CNC PRECISION MILLING TO ITS COMPOSITES SERVICE RANGE

REFITECH DEVELOPS INTO ONE-STOP SHOP FOR HIGH-PERFORMANCE COMPOSITES SOLUTIONS.

With its new Mecanumeric portal milling machine, Refitech can now offers customers the possibility of in-house composite milling. With the new machine the company can also mill various other types of core materials, such as foam, cork, wood or aluminium. ‘Refitech started in 1989 with only component production, but today we offer customers a full and comprehensive service range: from engineering to prototyping, serial production and finishing services, such as bonding, water jet cutting, lacquering, milling and sub-assembly,’ says Sales Engineer Bas Nijpels. ‘We want to unburden our customers by providing a complete composite solution.’

 

     

Milling carbonfiber and glassfiber applications

As well as producing carbon solutions for industrial applications, Refitech also manufactures fibreglass components. The company has developed a dedicated unit for fibreglass composite panel production. Panels are created with different core materials and inserts, like foam, honeycomb and aluminium. The benefits of composites are maximised by the combination of light weight, high-impact strength, high insolation value and high levels of fire retardation. Through CNC milling, the fibreglass composite foam panels are then tailored with all kinds of pockets and contours according to customer specifications. Refitech offers custom milling for both smaller and larger dimensions of up to +/- 3 meters in length.

These milled carbon components find many different applications, for example in Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and handling machines, as well as in measuring instruments and calibres. For these applications, products from our carbonwebshop’s standard range of carbon tubes and panels are also often used.

Thanks to our new milling machine we can respond to the increasing need in the market for precision composites.
